FERI-TB is a first-year 501(c)(3) public charity. This page lists our current legal status, the financial documents available today, and the ones we have committed to publishing on a defined schedule. Anything not yet public is available on request from qualified funders and regulators.
FERI-TB is a Virginia nonstock corporation and a public charity under the Internal Revenue Code. We are also authorized to conduct business in Maryland.
We commit to publishing everything a reasonable funder would request. Below is what is available now, and what will be published as soon as it exists.
Official IRS Letter 947 confirming FERI-TB's 501(c)(3) status, dated June 9, 2026.
Virginia Articles of Incorporation and Certificate of Incorporation. Available to qualified funders and regulators on request.
Board-adopted bylaws, conflict of interest policy, whistleblower policy, and document retention policy. Available to qualified funders on request.
Required annual filing for organizations with under $50,000 in gross receipts. Will be public via IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search after filing.
Narrative and financial summary for fiscal year 2026, including pilot cohort outcomes against our five committed metrics.
Silver Seal of Transparency targeted for Q2 2026. This unlocks access with many foundation grantmakers who require GuideStar verification.
Our first-year budget prioritizes direct program work. Actual figures will be reported in our year-end annual report. FERI-TB commits to maintaining at least 75% of annual expenses in program categories — the standard applied by most independent charity watchdogs.
Navigator time, patient transportation, translated materials, food and housing assistance for enrolled patients.

Every dollar contributed to FERI-TB directly funds the barrier-removal work that keeps patients on treatment. Below is what specific gift levels support in the field. These are illustrative unit costs based on our current program model.
One month of transportation credits for a patient traveling to DOT appointments.
Translated TB adherence education materials in one additional language.
One patient's full course of navigator support, including outreach and coordination.
